So Thankful

On this Thankful Thursday I would like to throw it back to three Sundays ago. I went to church, sang solo to “Praise is what I do” (yes I vow to praise you, through the good and the bad 🎶) and started feeling short of breath, dizzy and my chest was heavy. I sat down, drank water and waited for it to pass. It did get to a bearable point so I went on with my day.

That evening I noticed I was jittery, but chalked it up to taking my inhaler in hopes that my breathing would get better. I have a history of bronchitis, pneumonia and pleurisy so at the worse, I just figured it could be pneumonia and I would go to the doctor on Monday because I was already on antibiotics.

I went to get in the bed for the night earlier than usual because I was extremely exhausted and I just could not breathe laying down so I went to the ER.

Come to find out my blood count was really low causing the oxygen to be low in my blood, my sodium and potassium were less to nothing where they warned me I could go into cardiac arrest at any moment, they found that the reason my blood was low is because I have been bleeding internally in my GI tract and I am in a severe Lupus flare that could cause problems with my heart based upon my labs. I had to have a procedure while I was there and all.

These things had the potential to take me out and because I had no clue all of this was going on I waited all day to go to the hospital, BUT GOD TAKES CARE OF US EVEN WHEN WE DON’T HAVE SENSE ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES. He knows all about us. I didn’t know the severity, but he did. I could shout right there!!!

I may have a ways to go in my healing process, but as long as God has me, I don’t have to worry about a thing!!!
